Fifth seed Jeet Kishore Das suffered an upset when he was beaten 2-3 by Sourya Prasad Patnaik in a pre-quarterfinal match of the 5th Pradeep Sen Memorial All-Orissa Open Snooker Tournament at Cuttack Club, Cuttack today.
A fine break of 64 by Jeet failed to save him going down to Sourya in their exciting third-round clash that went to full distance.
In another pre-quarterfinal encounter, Subhranshu Kar faced stiff fight against Amit Lath before romping home by 3-2 frames. Khalid Sultan, Satyam Patnaik and Sandipani Mishra posted wins to advance to the round of 16.
